Daylong Writing Retreats
If you don't write your stories, who will? Spend a day writing, uncovering powerful stories and enjoying this beautiful and serene wine country venue. Retreats are led by Napa Writing Retreats and use the Amherst Writer's and Artists method, which creates a safe space for uncovering your best writing. These retreats are open to writers of all genres and skill levels. Space is limited to 12 participants.
August 23 – CULTIVATE: Expanding Your Writing Skills
As a writer, you need to experiment with different forms to help you stretch your limits and realize your full potential. Exercises will help you break out of your traditional patterns of writing. In the same way that a painter uses more and more colors on his or her palate, you will enhance your writing by testing out different forms.
October 18 – Writing Your Autobiography: Part 1
We all have a story to tell -- have you taken the time to discover yours? Exercises in this retreat will help you find the common themes in your writing and assist you in working with your strongest writing voice. Spend the day writing, exploring your story, and creating a plan for writing your autobiography.
November 22 – Writing Your Autobiography: Part 2
This retreat builds on the work done in Writing Your Autobiography, Part 1 by helping you continue to expand your story, push yourself past your habitual "stopping points" in your writing, and exploring options for getting your story published. Taking Part 1 is recommended, but not required.
Time: 10:30am – 5:00pm
Cost: $400
Details: Retreat includes a full day of writing, lunch, a wine and cheese reception at the end of the day, plus one hour of follow up writing coaching (a $125 value) to keep your writing on track.

One Day Yoga Retreats
Come to relax, renew, and restore in wine country!
Expand and deepen your yoga practice with Carneros Inn yoga instructor Janna Barkin. Each retreat features two practice sessions. In the morning, we'll link movement and breath with an invigorating Anusara-inspired flow practice. In the afternoon, we'll share a quieter session of long-held, deep releasing asanas. We'll have some fun too! Between the two sessions, you'll enjoy a delicious luncheon prepared by the Chefs of The Carneros Inn, and you are invited to indulge in a spa treatment, spend time in the fitness center, swim and soak, or just enjoy the grounds and surrounding beauty.
Open to people of all skill levels. Modifications will be offered to meet individual needs.

Plant the seeds of intention and nurture them through your yoga practice.
*With special guest Jill Winkelstein of Napa Writing Retreats who will guide participants in brief writing experiences designed to enhance our yoga practice. Jill will also offer an optional longer writing time during the break. Jill leads writing retreats at The Carneros Inn.

About the instructor:
Janna's love for yoga was sparked in 1988, and as her practice deepened she was drawn to teaching. Janna's classes invite a joyful opening in body, mind, and heart. Her style combines a playful passion for the practice with a strong understanding of universal alignment principles, as taught by John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga. She is deeply grateful to John and to her main teacher, Ulrika Engman, for their inspiration and guidance on the yoga path.

In this retreat we will be delving into the technique of
"Stephanie Herman's Method of Movement".
Start slow by isolating every muscle, then build up to dancing through fitness.
DATE: Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th

Daily Schedule:

Orientation into your body.
Through drawing, you will discover the goals of the body you want.
11am – noon:
Introduction into the technique behind “Stephanie Herman’s Method of Movement”
Finding the technique that makes your body move.
noon – 2pm:
Enjoy Lunch at the famous FARM Restaurant

Pilates Body & Rhythm
Incorporating Pilates and Dance evolving your technique, body and movement into a choreography
